ชิฮารุ ชิโนดะ พำนักอยู่ที่กรุงเทพมหานครตลอด 10 ปีที่ผ่านมา และได้แสดงละครเวทีมาทั่วโลกแล้ว โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งในประเทศไทยและญี่ปุ่น แต่เมื่อเกิดสถานการณ์โควิด-19 ขึ้น เธอจึงเดินทางกลับกรุงโตเกียวอันเป็นภูมิลำเนาเมื่อต้นปี 2563 และยังจัดการแสดงขนาดเล็กและกิจกรรมต่างๆ อยู่ในปัจจุบัน ในระยะ 10 ปีที่กรุงเทพมหานคร ชิโนดะมักจะแวะไปตามวัดและชุมชนเพื่อเก็บข้อมูลประกอบการวิจัยอยู่เรื่อยๆ โดยเธอสนใจความคล้ายคลึงระหว่าง “โรงละคร” และ “การมองเห็นสิ่งเหนือธรรมชาติและภูติผี”

Chiharu Shinoda has been based in Bangkok for the past 10 years and has performed theater works all over the world, especially in Japan and Thailand. In early 2020, due to the spread of Covid-19, she returned to her hometown of Tokyo, where she is currently holding small performances and events. During her 10-year stay in Bangkok, Shinoda regularly visited local temples and communities for research. She has been exploring the similarities between "theater" and "seeing the supernatural and ghosts." 

งาน Supernatural Pavilion II นี้เป็นงานลำดับที่สองและเป็นงานออนไลน์ และต่อยอดมาจากงานก่อนหน้าที่จัดขึ้นในพื้นที่กายภาพที่กรุงเทพมหานคร เมื่อปี 2561 ชิฮารุ ชิโนดะ ผลิตกิจกรรมต่างๆ ประกอบ Pavilion โดยกลุ่มอีเลิ้งเป็นผู้จัดกิจกรรมและเป็นผู้ประสานระหว่างสมาชิกชุมชนและศิลปินในพำนัก กิจกรรมนี้ได้รับการสนับสนุนจาก Arts Council Tokyo (Tokyo Metropolitan Foundation for History and Culture)

This Supernatural Pavilion II is the second and online iteration of the first version which was held in-person in Bangkok back in 2018, as part of the Bangkok Biennial. Chiharu Shinoda produced the series of events of the Pavilion, while E-lerng Group organized the events and acted as a liaison between the community members and the artist-in-residence. This event was supported by Arts Council Tokyo (Tokyo Metropolitan Foundation for History and Culture). 

Supernatural Pavillion ประกอบด้วยการแสดง นิทรรศการ และจดหมายเหตุการวิจัย โครงการนี้ก่อร่างขึ้นท่ามกลางสถานการณ์โควิด-19 พร้อมกันที่สมาชิกชุมชนนางเลิ้งกว่า 300 คนติดเชื้อโควิดและต้องกักตัวอยู่ในชุมชน สมาชิกส่วนใหญ่อาศัยอยู่ในสภาพที่แออัดและมีรายได้น้อย เวลานั้น ชาวนางเลิ้งต่างวุ่นวายกับการจัดหาอาหารและอุปกรณ์การแพทย์ให้กับผู้ป่วย หลังจากที่ได้ประชุมกัน เราตัดสินใจว่าเราสามารถส่งออกสิ่งต่างๆ จากชุมชนนางเลิ้งไปได้ เพื่อเป็นการสร้างรายได้ให้กับนักแสดงและกลุ่มก้อนต่างๆ ในชุมชน

Supernatural Pavilion consists of performances, exhibitions, and a research archive. This event was conceived during the covid-19 pandemic during which over 300 community members were infected and was quarantined in the Nang Loeng district where most are low-income and live in overcrowded conditions. At the time, local members were busy arranging food and medical supplies and delivering them to the sick. After a community discussion, we decided that there could be something we could send out from the community, and that we could generate income for performers and organizations within the community. 

ด้วยเหตุนี้ งาน Supernatural Pavillion II ซึ่งประกอบด้วยกิจกรรมต่างๆ ดังนี้

• Aokid ร่วมงานออนไลน์กับครู Pin มือกลองชุมชน เมื่อวันที่ 13 กันยายน 2564
• โชจิกิจัดแสดงออนไลน์จากวัดในชุมชน เมื่อวันที่ 17 ตุลาคม 2564
• มาริ ฟุกุโดเมะ และโตรุ อิโนอุเอะ ผลิตเครื่องเล่น spell ร่วมกับเด็กๆ ในชุมชน และส่งเครื่องมาที่กรุงเทพมหานครเพื่อจัดแสดงในชุมชนในเดือนธันวาคม 2564

Therefore, the Supernatural Pavilion II consists of the following activities. 

• Aokid had an online session with Kru Pin, a local drummer on September 13th, 2021. 
• Shojiki held an online performance from the community’s temple on October 17th, 2021. 
• Mari Fukudome and Toru Inoue made a spell-playing machine with the children in the community. They sent the machine to Bangkok and exhibited it in the community in December, 2021.
