Timeline
Community Art

Despite being in Bangkok, the country's capital city, smaller communities are neglected as evidenced by overcrowded and unsanitary living conditions. Although there was some assistance from the government, they were not long-lasting. Children are still mistreated, drugs are just as accessible to purchase as paracetamol, families are disintegrating, and many are struggling to make ends meet. It seems as if there is no way out.

Therefore, we intend to use art as a tool and a method to break the vicious cycle. Through artistic activities with the emphasis on visual arts, we could creatively engage with individuals and communities as we experience the process together. .

We identified three core activities and associated auxiliary activities for each. This additional activity is planned ahead of time, and any information or challenges to the activities during that time are implemented. The events will take place each Sunday in September through November 2008.

Core Activities

1. Creating community map

2. “Family Portrait” activity

3. "Limited t-shirt - community team shirt" activity for community graphic arts

Extra Activities

1. An apron-making activity

2. Activities for setting life goals (Make dreams come true)

3. Bai Sri Su Kwan Ceremony

Special Activity

The creation of a monument honoring communal cooperation is accomplished through the "Town Memorial" initiative, in which every member of the community takes part by creating sculptures out of waste items or creating maps on a big frame.
