Resident: Chiharu Shinoda and Mai Nakabayashi

For this residency, there are two performances, one by Chiharu Shinoda, and another by Mai Nakabayashi. 

โปรเจคนี้ประกอบไปด้วยการแสดงสองชุด ชุดหนึ่งโดยชิฮารุ ชิโนดะ และอีกชุดโดยไม นาคาบายาชิ 

In 2012, Chiharu Shinoda left FaiFai, an artist’s collective in Japan, to live in Bangkok, Thailand. This project was launched in the run-up to her theatrical performance scheduled for 2015. She performed Kigeki, which is aimed at creating events through the body and space as media which creates opportunities for people to come together and transcend time. It contemplates the question, “What defines a play?” A body, a musical score, a picture, or text that describes an event? 

ในปี 2012 ชิฮารุลาออกจาก FaiFai คอลเลคทีฟศิลปินในญี่ปุ่นเพื่อมาพำนักที่กรุงเทพฯ ประเทศไทย โปรเจคนี้เกิดขึ้นในช่วงที่เธอเตรียมตัวสำหรับการแสดงที่จะเกิดขึ้นในปี 2015 เธอเลือกแสดงคิเกคิ การแสดงที่ตั้งใจสร้างสถานการณ์ผ่านร่างกายและพื้นที่ในฐานะสื่อกลาง เพื่อสร้างเงื่อนไขให้คนรวมตัวกันและอยู่เหนือกาลเวลา การแสดงนี้ตั้งใจครุ่งคิดกับคำถามที่ว่า “อะไรเป็นตัวกำหนดการแสดงละคร?” มันคือร่างกาย สกอร์ของดนตรี ภาพ หรือข้อเขียน?

Another resident was Mai Nakabayashi who came to Nang Loeng and stayed for 2 weeks to learn “Lakhon Chatri” with Kanya Tippayosot, the last traditional Lakhon Chatri performer in Nang Loeng. Originally, Lakhon Chatri are invited to perform in ceremonies such as weddings, funerals or kae bon. Mai delivered a performance called Kantong, in which she combined her ballet skills with Lakhon Chatri’s “Cat Dance.” The performance was delivered as a celebratory ceremony for an elderly homeless man, Mr. Chan Suchinda or Uncle Tu, who received his first ID card at the age of 72. Uncle Tu was born in Khae Nang Loeng Temple, and has lived there for more than 20 years. He finally received his first ID card through the help of the Bangkok Clinic Project and the Stateless Person Network. 

ศิลปินในพำนักอีกท่านคือไม นาคาบายาชิ ที่พำนักอยู่ที่นางเลิ้งเป็นเวลา 2 สัปดาห์เพื่อศึกษา “ละครชาตรี” กับครูกัญญา ทิพโยสถ นักแสดงละครชาตรีที่นางเลิ้งคนสุดท้าย ดั้งเดิมแล้วละครชาตรีเป็นการแสดงในพิธีกรรมต่างๆ เช่นงานแต่งงาน งานศพ หรือการแก้บน ไมนำเสนอการแสดงชื่อ “Kantong” ที่เธอผสมผสานทักษะการเต้นบัลเลต์เข้ากับ “การแสดงวิฬาร์” ของละครชาตรี โดยเป็นการแสดงในพิธีเฉลิมฉลองลุงตู่ (คุณจันทร์ สุจินดา) ชายไร้บ้านในชุมชนที่เพิ่งได้รับบัตรประจำตัวประชาชนเป็นครั้งแรกเมื่ออายุ 72 ปี ลุงตู่เกิดที่วัดแคนางเลิ้ง และอาศัยอยู่ที่วัดนั้นมากว่า 20 ปีแล้ว ด้วยการช่วยเหลือจาก Bangkok Clinic Project และ Stateless Person Network ลุงตู่จึงได้รับบัตรประจำตัวประชาชนเป็นครั้งแรกในที่สุด
